POLAND Grainy effect for Viterra

Interior design
Viterra has moved into its new 1,500 sqm offices in Olivia Prime, part of the Olivia Centre business complex in Gdańsk. The Design Anatomy studio is responsible for the design of the space.

Viterra operates in 35 countries and is active in the grains, oilseed, vegetables, sugar, rice, cotton, vegetable oil and biodiesel markets.

The entire office space, located on the 14th floor of the building, has been decorated with openwork panels separating individual zones, as well as wall panels. All are made out of PET bottles, produced using recycled plastic and which are highly sound-absorbent. The furniture used also fits into Viterra's re-use policy as it includes ergonomic desks that were used for a short period by another company.

When designing Viterra’s offices, we decided to reference the industries the company specialises in and the colours of fields from a bird's eye view, including golden grain and green grass, complementing them with accents in cobalt and dark green.
Monika Loewnau-Solis, project manager and architect, Design Anatomy

The heart of the office is the reception zone – an integration and interaction area for the entire team. The common space has been fitted with colourful armchairs and pouffes as well as seats mounted on the walls. The telephone booths and conference rooms next to the reception have been given acoustic linings and wooden slats on the ceilings. The space also includes two kitchens and a 180 sqm terrace on the 15th floor. Relaxation zones with loungers as well as greenery are also to be added.

The goal set for us was to adapt the office for contemporary hybrid work trends, enabling employees to fully return to stationary work in the future. We decided to divide the space into zones intended for focused work as well as active, loud and energetic cooperation.
Monika Loewnau-Solis

The nine-building Olivia Centre on al. Grunwaldzka contains 200,000 sqm. It has been awarded the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and Well HSR certificates. Tenants include Energa, Allianz, Nordea Bank, Bayer, Sii and the Pomerania Development Agency.
