Griffin negotiates new acquisitions
POLAND Griffin is negotiating the purchase of four new commercial projects in Poland worth EUR 160 mln in total. Two of the projects are located in Warsaw and the other two in the regional markets.

Doraco to build Warsaw’s Cedet
POLAND Immobel has signed chosen Korporacja Budowlana Doraco as the general contractor for Cedet, a mixed-use redevelopment project that is set to be erected in Warsaw on a land plot now taken by the legendary Smyk children’s department store.
East Capital with Tallinn’s Metro Plaza
ESTONIA East Capital Baltic Property Fund II, managed by Stockholm-based asset manager East Capital, has acquired Metro Plaza, a Class A office building in Tallinn, for EUR 21.8 mln with a yield of 7 pct.

Bucharest office leasing sees improvement in Q3
ROMANIA According to CBRE, in Q3 2014, the total leasing activity (TLA) in Bucharest reached the level of 70,000 sqm. For the second consecutive quarter, new leases, expansions and pre-leases in the city accounted for more than 80 pct of TLA, the analysts point out.

WORLD US hotel giant Starwood, which operates such hotel chains as Westin, Sheraton, Le Meridien, St. Regis, Aloft, W and Element, has introduced a new mobile app functionality that allows hotel guests to use their mobiles as a room key.

Dom Development eyes Kraków and Bemowo
POLAND Dom Development is now eyeing plots located in the “attractive parts” of such Warsaw districts as Targówek, Mokotów, Bemowo and Ursynów, reveals Jarosław Szanajca, the president of the board of Dom Development in an interview given to ‘Eurobuild CEE’.

ROMANIA New Europe Property Investments (NEPI) has completed the acquisition of Promenada Mall, a 40,300 sqm Bucharest shopping mall owned by RE Project Development SRL and Manierita Limited, for EUR 148 mln.
Porr to build Bałtyk
POLAND Porr has been awarded a contract by Garvest to be the general contractor for its Bałtyk office building development in Poznań. The construction works is scheduled to start in mid-November, with the preparation work having already started.
