LATVIA The Orbis/Accor hotel group has opened the first Ibis Styles hotel in Latvia: Ibis Styles Riga.
EUROPE In the first half of the year, French hotel operator Accor has seen a 2.8 pct y-o-y increase in like-for-like revenues as its total revenues hit EUR 2.5 bln. Meanwhile, like-for-like gains in the Northern, Central and Eastern Europe region (NCEE) alone went up 3.2 pct.

POLAND Czarna Góra Apartamenty has decided to build a condo hotel near its existing Czarna Góra resort in Sienna near Stronie Śląskie in Poland’s Lower Silesian Province. Located next to the six luxury apartment buildings, the four storey condo hotel is set to house 142 apartments.
RUSSIA The Nikolskaya hotel in Moscow has officially been included under the management of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, changing the name to St. Regis Moscow Hotel Nikolskaya.
RUSSIA In H1 2014, the St Petersburg quality hotel market saw a 30-pct growth in ADR (up to RUB 4,600) and a 24-pct surgge in RevPar (up to RUB 2,253), compared to H1 2013, according to the latest report by JLL.
HUNGARY Hungary’s central bank (MNB) has found an interesting way to support the country’s recovering real estate market. After what must have been extremely hard bargaining, it has bought a four-star rural residence worth EUR 2.9 mln for over EUR 1.3 mln to pamper its employees, reports the ‘Wall Street Journal.’
RUSSIA With a 5.4 pct drop in the revenue per room (RevPAR) y-o-y, the performance of the Moscow hotel market for H1 2014 is down, but less than feared, according to the Moscow Hotel Market Update report by JLL.
POLAND Hotel group Carloson Rezidor, which owns 1,340 hotels worldwide including Radisson-branded hotels, has decided to enter another Polish city, the mountain resort of Zakopane.
UKRAINE In H1 the hotel occupancy in Kyiv dropped to 28 pct, an all-time low, compared to 50 pct in the first half of 2013, according to the latest Hotel Intelligence report by JLL.

POLAND Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has decided to open a five-star Radisson Blu Resort in Świnoujście as part of the Baltic Park Molo complex, developed by Zdrojowa Invest. This will be the first Radisson Blu Resort-branded hotel in Poland.

CEE REGION Prague-based hotelier CPI Hotels, a part of the Czech investment group CPI, has become an operator for ten Orco Property Group-owned hotels located across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Russia, nine of which have been forming a regional chain, Mamaison.
HUNGARY Dubai-based developer Al Habtoor Group has acquired InterContinental Budapest, the company informed.

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA Marriott will open its first Courtyard hotel in Bosnia and Herzegovina next year. The 130-room facility is scheduled to open in mid-2015 in Sarajevo. This will be Marriott International’s second venture in the country after it launches its Residence Inn Sarajevo in early 2015.

CROATIA Austrian banking group Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank International has put the Lisanj hotel in Novi Vinodolski up for sale.
RUSSIA According to the latest report by JLL, in 2014, the quality hotel market in Moscow has seen a 4-pct drop in occupancy rates (down to 59 pct) and a 1-pct drop in the ADR (now at the level of RUB 6,000). This fall can be attributed to the political turmoil in Ukraine and sanctions put on Russia as a result, the analysts write in the “Moscow Hotel Market” report.

POLAND Real estate developer Doctor Q Bud will build a new, Best Western-branded hotel at Kraków-Balice airport. The project is now undergoing the final phase of designing and planning. Best Western Balice Airport Kraków is scheduled to open in the first half of 2016.
