Romania Romanian hotels grow
Occupancy rates increased by around 4 pct in the first six months of the year compared to the same period of 2024, according to a report by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox with the figures based on the STR data. The average daily rate (ADR) grew by circa 8 pct in local currency. This resulted in a spectacular 12 pct increase in RevPAR YTD 2025 versus 2024.

Poland Leonardo expands in JM Tower
Leonardo Hotels Central Europe will manage the entire JM Tower complex on ul. Grzybowska in Warsaw from October this year. Currently, the chain is only responsible for managing the section where the Leonardo Royal Warsaw hotel operates.

The value of the hotel and spa services market in Poland increased by 16.7 pct year-on-year in 2024, reaching PLN 7.8 bln. According to KPMG, this trend is consistent with the broader, global recovery of the tourism sector.

Handwritten Collection announces further expansion in Europe. The chain plans to open more than 10 new hotels in the coming months. The new Handwritten Collection hotels include the first hotel in Croatia in a historic building in Rijeka, a hotel in Debrecen, Hungary, and a hotel in Tirana, Albania.

The Art Nouveau hotel Grand Hotel Evropa in Prague has started operating under the W Hotels banner as W Prague. This is the first property of this Marriott Bonvoy-owned brand in the Czech capital.

Poland Grand transaction in Sopot
The Sofitel Grand Sopot has changed hands. The Polish company Sinfam Investments became the new owner of the hotel. The seller was AccorInvest, which includes the Orbis group. Sofitel will remain the managing operator of the hotel.
