Savills looks to the future
EUROPE The real estate advisor predicts that prime offices will continue to be the “top pick” for core investors, in particular in Germany, the Southern European cities as well as the Central and Eastern European markets. Value-add investors could focus on transport and storage, mainly in Poland, Czech Republic and Romania, while redevelopments and new developments are the main routes to higher returns, according to the international real estate advisor.

Unibep goes retro
UKRAINE Stolitsa Group subsidiary Martin has been granted a development loan for its Retroville shopping and office centre which is under construction in Kyiv with the developer having previously appointed Polish-based company Unibep in October as the general contractor.

POLAND Sonae Sierra has acquired a 50 pct stake in Balmain Asset Management Group’s Central European platform, which is now to be a joint venture called Sierra Balmain.
Robyg sees sales dip
POLAND In 2018 the Robyg Group signed contracts for the sale of 2,520 units net, around 1,000 less than in 2017 when 3,470 sales contracts were signed. In the last quarter of 2018 Robyg signed sales contracts for 504 units (compared to 718 a year earlier).
Union Investment racks up EUR 201 mln
POLAND In 2018, Union Investment leased a total of 854,00 sqm of commercial real estate space, slightly down from 867,000 sqm a year before.

POLAND Orbis has signed a conditional contract to sell a 7,900 sqm property ul. Powstańców Śląskich 7 and 7B in Wrocław for PLN 44 mln to an undisclosed developer.

EPP delivers strong returns over 2018
POLAND Polish real estate fund EPP, which is listed on the JSE, delivered a total return of 21 pct over 2018 significantly outperforming the market. This represents a significant difference compared to the SAPY benchmark index which had total returns of -25 pct.

Norblin receives EIB financing
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed a EUR 60 mln loan agreement with Capital Park subsidiary ArtN to finance the conversion of the Norblin factory site in central Warsaw into a mixed-use complex.
