Turnover among engineers has reached 42 pct, according to Randstad’s latest report, 'Labour Market in the Construction Sector: Trends, Challenges and Recruitment Strategies for 2026'. For production facilities and warehouses, factors such as delivery time and technical specifications are now being considered alongside a building’s carbon footprint over its entire life cycle.

Weaker demand, high labour costs and pressure on liquidity are among the main challenges facing the industry.
