Samsung aims to seduce retailers with gesture-reading displays

WORLD Samsung Display, a manufacturer of OLED and LCD displays, has introduced mirror and transparent OLED display panels that recognize facial expressions and hand gestures.
The Samsung Mirror Display will be integrated with the Intel RealSense technology to create a “virtual fitting room” that will be used to help consumers “vividly” see themselves wearing clothing apparel, shoes or jewelry they like. “Once retailers adopt the combined Samsung-Intel “personalization” virtual imaging solution, consumers will be able to go to stores to see retail items in ways that will greatly enhance point-of-purchase shopping as we know it today,” says Samsung.
