Virtual cleaning becomes reality
TechnologyAR-Check employs an augmented reality system involving the use of intelligent glasses, which indicate the tasks to be carried out, as well as when and in what order. The system automatically and independently organises, directs and supervises all additional and support processes and is ideal for buildings, vehicles, streets, aircraft, ships and so on. Unlike traditional cleaning approaches, it does not require employing additional personnel or an external company.
Through the glasses the cleaner sees the areas requiring cleaning (floors, furniture, equipment, windows, etc) as marked red. The field of vision includes information about the cleaning products needed, a step by step work guide and other helpful tips for carrying out a professional cleaning job. In addition to this, the cleaner always has their hands free. The smart glasses operate via sensors on the cleaning device (e.g. the vacuum cleaner or mop) or on the glasses themselves (when cleaning with cloths, brushes, sponges, etc). The sensors not only register whether devices such as vacuum cleaners are turned on or are in contact with a given surface, but also whether the appropriate pressure has been applied (the threshold value) for effective cleaning. AR-Check also recognises whether the cleaner uses appropriate devices and cleaning products. For example, cleaners will sometimes use cloths designed for other purposes because it is more convenient, such as kitchen cloths for office cleaning. AR-Check can spot such mistakes immediately.
The system registers work as completed only after the cleaning has been performed adequately. In order to make the cleaning easier, the work is organised by changing the colours within the field of vision (e.g. red, which indicates the area which need to be cleaned, changes into green, indicating the clean areas). Each job carried out by the user, as well as any negligence or mistakes, are identified and registered. All these processes are highly effective and carried out in real time. Thus AR-Check limits the frequency of errors, stoppages and increases the quality of cleaning at the same time.
“The system is capable of following instructions that had been unfeasible until now. In order to achieve this, in the last few years I have created and patented AR-Check. This revolutionary software and hardware can provide crucial support for cleaning management,” explains Martin Cudzilo, the creator of the system.
