BELARUS Huawei Technologies is planning to build an R&D centre in the Great Stone industrial park near Minsk.
Further details of the project have yet to be disclosed. The Chinese company entered the Belarusian market in 2003 and in 2007 established its Bel Huawei Technologies subsidiary, which carries out science projects in cooperation with Belarusian universities specialising in IT and electronics. According to the Belarusian ministry of industry, the value of export of software developed in the country for global IT firms amounted to almost USD 1 bln last year.
