Zebra goes shopping

The device will scan bar codes and memorise the products placed in a shopping trolley, displaying a running total of the shopping made so far. At the check out the device creates a QR code to be scanned by the store staff or an automated till and payment is made without the need to scan each item again. It also includes a built in speaker and microphone to allow shoppers to ask store staff questions, such as where a particular good may be found. The data collected by the device can also be used for computer analysis. The system uses the Android operating system.
