HUNGARY Symbiotic and smart for BP in Agora

Technology
HB Reavis has introduced its Symbiosy smart office system into petro-giant BP’s new global businesses services unit in the Agora building in Budapest.

Data will be collected by 200 sensors around the 22,000 sqm of offices, while the entrance to the building will be accessed using a facial recognition system. The sensors will record information about the temperature, CO2 levels and humidity to ensure the ideal working conditions for BP’s 2,000 employees. A real-time digital twin of the office will also be generated to provide insights into how people interact and use the different space.

The system can be used to ensure that the office space is employed effectively – for example, by monitoring the number of people in meeting rooms and how long they use the space, and then by recommending the size and number of meeting rooms.

Employees can then choose the space they require according to their own personal environmental preferences, its availability, capacity, the amenities and its privacy.

BP, which was due to move into the building this summer, is still encouraging people to work from home for the foreseeable future.
