Poland Karuzela spins into Biała Podlaska

Retail & leisure
Mitiska REIM and Karuzela Holding have opened their ninth Karuzela retail park in Poland – in the eastern city of Biała Podlaska.

Karuzela Biała Podlaska has 28 units with 17,700 sqm gla and 860 parking spaces. The retail park is 100 pct leased to such tenants as grocery anchor Lidl, Reserved, Action, Kik, Tedi, Media Expert, Dealz, Pepco, New Yorker and Sinsay. The site also includes an owner-occupied 7,000 sqm Agata Meble furniture store, while a 3,300 sqm Bricomarché DIY is scheduled to open by the end of this year. These will together bring the gross leasable area of the retail park up to 28,000 sqm. Karuzela Biała Podlaska, which has been opened in a city of 55,000 inhabitants, has been developed to fulfil BREEAM 'Very Good' certification criteria.

These urban infill locations are an opportunity that we look for in Poland, where we can become the most important modern convenience retail destination in the city.
Radosław Misko, a senior investment associate at Mitiska REIM

Belgian investment fund manager and convenience retail specialist Mitiska REIM bought into Polish retail park developer Karuzela Holding in 2019, since when Karuzela’s portfolio has been increased to nine completed centres and six pipeline projects, with a combined 160,000 sqm gla. In the last 18 months, the partnership has also opened retail parks and convenience centres in Kołobrzeg, Wągrowiec and Puławy, while Mitiska REIM has acquired Europa Centralna, a 67,000 sqm gla shopping centre in Gliwice, on behalf of MEREP 3.
