Meyer Bergman takes Galeria Katowicka holding to 70 pct

POLAND European retail investment management firm Meyer Bergman has acquired an additional stake in Galeria Katowicka in Katowice from its joint partner in the project Neinver.

Its holding in the project is now above 70 pct, with the purchase representing the final commitment for Meyer Bergman’s first fund, Meyer Bergman European Retail Partners I. PKP (the Polish State Railways) is the other shareholder in the scheme. Phase I of the project, the opening of a redeveloped main station for the city, took place on October 29th. Phase II, the redevelopment of the bus terminus, is due to be completed in Q1 2013, followed by the final phase, a 48,000 sqm gla shopping centre with 250 stores, late next year. Total investment costs come to EUR 200 mln.
