Which way to the office of the future?
POLAND What will the office look like in 5, 10 or 15 years’ time? Will office buildings even still be needed? And if so, in what form? These were among the topics by the panellists and guests at Eurobuild CEE’s tenth ‘Office Market Conference for Poland – Trends & Outlooks’ conference, which took place at the office of The Heart in the Warsaw Spire building on May 28th.

Skanska breaks new barriers
POLAND Skanska’s residential division has announced that from now on each of its new projects in Poland are to be built to meet the requirements of Fundacja Integracja [The Integration Foundation]. The foundation is dedicated to encouraging the elimination architectural barriers and creating friendly spaces for all users, regardless of their age and physical abilities.

Disappointing start of year for Romanian logistics
ROMANIA The Romanian industrial and logistics market recorded disappointing figures for Q1 this year with total leasing transactions down by over 50 pct y-o-y (almost 30,000 sqm versus 74,000 sqm in Q1 2018), according to figures from Colliers International.

CEE REGION Following previous announcements regarding the separation of its business lines, Orbis has decided to dispose of its service business, which includes its franchise and management agreements and has started exclusive negotiations to sell the businesses to its majority stakeholder Accor.

Sfinks to grow through franchises and acquisitions
POLAND The Sfinks restaurant network is planning to increase the proportion of franchises that make up the entire chain to more than 60 pct. Its plans for this year also include the acquisition of minority stakes in other companies in the segment and the opening of at least 20 new restaurants.

POLAND Archicom is to develop the Planty Racławickie residential estate on ul. Racławicka in Wrocław's Krzyki district, near the river Ślęza.

Second stage of Zajezdnia Poznań nears completion
POLAND Fit out work has begun on the third building of the Zajezdnia Poznań residential complex, which is under construction in Poznań's Jeżyce district on the site of a former tram depot.

Five leases signed in Galeria Tęcza
POLAND Two retailers have signed leases in the Galeria Tęcza shopping centre on ul. 3 Maja in Kalisz and five lease renewals have also been signed. Overall, lease agreements with a total area of almost 2,000 sqm have been signed.

Era Park comes to Warsaw
POLAND An Era Park retail park is to be built on ul. Strażacka in Warsaw’s Rembertów district. Its construction will start in the spring of 2020 and its opening is planned for the autumn of 2020.
