Less office buildings among megatall skyskrapers
WORLD Only 43 pct of the 100 tallest skyscrapers in the world are office buildings. The statistics show that this number has been gradually decreasing since the year 2000, when 85 pct were office towers, according to research by JLL.

HUNGARY Immofinanz Group has signed several large lease agreements for more than 8,000 sqm in its Hungarian office and logistics buildings.

POLAND The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MSZ) has announced that it is looking to lease a temporary headquarters in Warsaw. The Ministry aims to rent out the office space of 2,000-2,500 sqm in a single building for five years, with a 12-month lease extension option.

Strabag to develop 28,000 sqm Warsaw office project
POLAND Cologne-based construction company Strabag has decided to develop a 28,000 sqm (GFA) EUR 75 mln office and retail building in central Warsaw. The Astoria project, planned to be completed in H1 2016, will be conducted by Strabag Real Estate, a Strabag development entity that debuts on the Polish market.

ROMANIA In H1 2014, office space take-up in Bucharest hit 128,500 sqm, with net take-up reaching 55,000 sqm, a 40 y-o-y pct increase, while a significant portion of the new demand was generated by new players on the local market, including the IT, finance and insurance companies, according to Colliers International.

Russian technologists take up more space in Moscow
RUSSIA Russian IT and telecoms company Consyst-OS has signed a three-year lease deal for 3,260 sqm of office space in Moscow’s Diagonal House. Spread across four floors, the new offices will help the company to expand its operations.

Demand for Russian offices to shrink 40 pct?
RUSSIA In 2014, demand for office space in Moscow might decline by as much as 25 to 40 pct, compared to 2013, says CBRE in its latest study. In a result, the vacancy rate might climb up to 16 pct by the end of the year, the analysts say.
