CEE REGION Lagoon life comes to CEE capitals

Forty Management has announced that it is soon to begin work on its Central District Lagoon City hotel and mixed-use complex in Bucharest, while the launches of similar projects are pending in Prague and Budapest and that it is seeking a site for one in Warsaw.

Central District Lagoon City in Bucharest will be located at Strada Coralilor 18 in Sector 1, about 9 km north of the city centre. It will feature a 10,000 sqm artificial turquoise lagoon surrounded by 3,200 sqm of white sand beach, as well as a 323-room internationally branded 5-star hotel, office and retail/service space, 401 apartments, three restaurants, sky and beach bars, cafés, a cinema, a spa, a gym, a beauty clinic, concierge services and a heliport. Technology patented by Florida-based Crystal Lagoons is to be used to create the lagoon.

Work on Central District Lagoon City in Bucharest is to begin after the winter and should be completed by the end of 2025.

Romanian developer Forty Management has also revealed that similar projects are at the permitting stage in Prague and Budapest, while a site is being sought in Warsaw for another.
