AEW has achieved the BREEAM New Construction ‘Outstanding’ rating with a score of 88.1 pct for its recently completed 36,400 sqm brownfield logistics development The Platform in Pilsen, Czech Republic.
The certification has been obtained for the standards of construction applied for the asset. Over 87 pct of waste was diverted from landfills during construction, and a smart metering system was installed to monitor and reduce energy use (PV plant, LED lighting for both indoor and outdoor areas, automated free cooling at night triggered by the BMS and EV charging). The scheme has also been designed to support low water consumption including rainwater flushing and leak detection systems.
