Poland The real estate industry can be counted on

ESG
A unique place is being created on ul. Dąbrowskiego in Warsaw. Przystań (The Haven), the headquarters of the Portus Vitae Foundation, has not yet welcomed its first guests, but it is already bringing people together, thanks in no small part to the unfailing support of the real estate industry.

Industry insiders who know the foundation's co-founder, Paulina Krasnopolska, have spared no effort or support in creating this space. Paulina, who has worked at companies such as CBRE, JLL and RX France, believed from the start that people in the real estate sector can always be counted on. In 2022, together with her friend Ewa Dąbrowska, they founded the Portus Vitae Foundation and started to give help. 'Portus vitae' means 'haven of life'. They wanted life to pause for a moment, and to live in the here and now.

In the beginning we worked for companies introducing diversity, organising workshops on mindfulness and well-being, as well as meditations. At the same time, we were also expanding our charity work. Our personal experiences - depression, anxiety, professional burnout, oncological illness - allowed us to create, together with wonderful trainers and teachers, workshops for people in crisis.
Paulina Krasnopolska, co-founder of Portus Vitae Fundation

Paulina and Ewa help by organising workshops on well-being and personal development, mindfulness courses such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Self-Compassion, they teach yoga practice, meditation or breathing. They also organise coaching and mentoring. The foundation also helps cancer patients who live under constant stress.

In January 2024, the idea was born to open a foundation headquarters with a workshop space. Paulina and Ewa went to negotiate the lease of a small basement on ul. Narbutta, and came up with a proposal to sign a lease for a 100 sqm premises on ul. Dąbrowskiego in Warsaw. And so Przystań was born. It is a place with great potential, but in need of complete renovation. The first step was to raise funds for the adaptation work. Initial support came from family, friends and acquaintances, but quickly companies came forward, willing to help pro bono by providing materials or their own work.

Miracles began to happen - we were approached by people who wanted to build Przystań with us. The architectural design was created by our friend Jan Gutt. The renovation is being done by the Neo-Świat company, the floors will be laid by Carpet Solution Service. Ewa's husband's friend has promised to do the electrics, and another friend has brought people to do the ventilation and air conditioning. Colleagues from JLL will try to donate furniture to us. We bought the old yoga equipment from the YogaRytm school, which was unfortunately closing at the end of June. We will still need to equip the bathroom for people with disabilities, and a small kitchen. I can't wait for this place to finally come to life, Przystań is a dream come true for us.
