Poland Manufaktura now Outstanding

The centre has introduced a number of measures to reduce utility consumption and its environmental impact. These include a 500 kWp solar farm, a complete replacement of all its lighting with LEDs operated by a smart control system, electricity metering for the HVAC systems and the replacement of equipment with energy-efficient systems. Since the solar panels have been operational, Manufaktura has already saved over PLN 1.1 mln net on electricity costs (since October 2025). At the same time, compared to 2021, electricity consumption has decreased by approximately 15 pct, with heating down by 30 pct and gas consumption down by 50 pct. Manufaktura was first rated under BREEAM In-Use in 2011.

The certification awarded the highest scores for Land Use & Ecology, recognising the centre's biodiversity and green space management, as well as for Water, due to consistent year-over-year reductions in water consumption. Very high marks were also awarded for facility management and Health & Wellbeing.

Manufaktura has announced further measures to further reduce energy and water consumption, increase its use of renewable energy, and improve the efficiency its systems over the coming years. These include adding more solar panels and modernising the heating substations, installing a new BMS, and replacing all the HVAC equipment.
