POLAND Logistics giant UPS has leased 2,000 sqm of office space in GTC’s University Business Park building located at ul. Wólczańska 178 in Łódź. The tenant will run its new 130-people global shared services centre in the property.

WORLD In the first quarter of its 2015/2016 fiscal year, the UK-based fashion retail group New Look has seen a 97 pct y-o-y boost in the number of online orders placed on mobile devices.

WORLD Stradivarius, the Inditex-owned young women's fashion retail format, aims to launch a line for men in 2017. The news comes as one of the chain's biggest competitors, New Look, plans on opening its first menswear-only physical stores this year.

POLAND In spite of a difficult beginning to 2015, Ronson Europe is expecting a good end to the year. In H1 2014 the company had the revenue of PLN 113 mln and in the current year the revenue decreased to PLN 94.2 mln.

Torus sells Alchemia to REINO and Bluehouse
POLAND Developer Torus has sold the first phase of the Alchemia office project in Gdańsk to a joint-venture between a fund managed by Bluehouse Capital Advisor and investment vehicle REINO Dywidenda Plus. Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller in the transaction.

POLAND The demand for warehouse space in Poland has reaches its highest level since 2008. In the first half of this year app. 1.17 mln sqm was leased – 20 pct more than in H1 2014, according to the latest report by JLL.

New office supply shrinks by 60 pct
RUSSIA Around 133,000 sqm of high quality office space was delivered to the Russian office market in Q2 2015, according to research by JLL Russia & CIS. In the first half of the year the amount of new office supply was estimated at 224,000 sqm – an almost 60 pct y-o-y reduction.

CZECH REPUBLIC Around 139,800 sqm of new production and warehouse space was delivered to the Czech industrial market during the first half of 2015, according to the Industrial Research Forum.

Slovak industrial market picking up
SLOVAKIA The Slovak industrial and logistics market showed increased activity in Q2 2015, mainly in terms of new leases. The total volume of closed transactions in Q2 2015 reached app. 53,000 sqm. Although the second quarter of last year was more active (by app. 15.5 pct), in comparison to Q1 2015 there has been a 22.5 pct increase in transactional activity.

Round Hill to buy RPG Byty
CZECH REPUBLIC London-based asset management firm Round Hill Capital is to enter the Czech market after agreeing to buy a 100 pct holding in RPG Byty, the largest privately owned rental residential real estate company in the Czech Republic, along with its management company, RPG Sluzby.
