EMEA REGION In 2012 the total investment volume in hotels in the EMEA region came to EUR 8.5 bln, representing a 4 pct decline on the previous year, according to figures from Jones Lang LaSalle.
Bristol renovations finished off
POLAND Extensive renovation work has been completed on the Hotel Bristol in Warsaw. As a result, it is now included in Starwood’s Luxury Collection.
Future hotel to arise in 2016
CZECH REPUBLIC Akroterion, a subsidiary of Loyd´s Property Investments group, is to construct a new 5-star hotel in the centre of Prague. Future hotel is to offer 120 luxury guest rooms, a restaurant and conference facilities on an area of 16,000 sqm.
Mountain hotel in Mercure chain
POLAND The Motyl hotel in Krynica-Zdrój has signed a franchise agreement with the Orbis hotel group to join the Mercure chain.
Record stays in Budapest last year
HUNGARY The number of guests and guest nights in Budapest last year increased by 3.6 pct and 4.8 pct respectively, reaching a record high level – according to KSH (the Hungarian Central Statistical Office).
Arłamów hotel at the end of 2013
POLAND The Arłamów hotel in Arłamów (in Podkarpackie province) is to open in Q4 2013. The hotel includes sports facilities and spa.
More tourists in Estonia
ESTONIA A total of 2.8 mln foreign tourists stayed in hotels, motels and campsites in 2012 according to Statistics Estonia, representing a 4 pct increase on the previous year.

POLAND The Best Western Hotel Ferdynand in Rzeszów is to be run under a new brand.
Rebranding for Cieszyn Orbis hotel
POLAND Hotel Orbis Halny Cieszyn is currently being rebranded. Since February it has been welcoming guests as Mercure Cieszyn, while modernisation work on the lobby and the rooms is now taking place in line with the requirements of the Mercure brand.
Park Inn by Radisson to open in Kyiv
UKRAINE The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced that it is to open the Park Inn by Radisson Troyitska in central Kyiv.
Park Plaza Histria Pula to be extended
CROATIA PPHE Hotel Group has announced that it will extend its Park Plaza Histria Pula hotel in Pula by 127 rooms and suites, bringing the total number up to 368.

POLAND Grupa Hotelowa Orbis is to stop building its own hotels from 2014 and focus on developing its chain through franchising and management contracts.
Le Méridien Lav up for sale
CROATIA Grand Hotel Lav and Grand Marina Lav, the two companies which jointly own the Le Méridien Lav hotel outside Split and the adjoining resort and marina, have been put up for sale by their sole shareholder, Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank International.
One more star for Start
POLAND The Start hotel Atos on ul. Mangalia in Warsaw, which is owned by the Satoria Group, has been awarded another star by the Masovian provincial government to become a two-star facility.
One & Only comes to Europe
MONTENEGRO Kerzner International Holdings has signed an agreement with Triangle Investment and Development to develop and operate a One & Only resort in Kumbor overlooking Tivat Bay.
OST Gromada restructures
POLAND Ogólnokrajowa Spółdzielnia Turystyczna Gromada is to restructure by selling its unprofitable hotels and properties and by liquidating or spinning off its subsidiaries.

POLAND The Gromada hotel chain has sold its hotel in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski to a private investor.
RT Galicya joins the ranks of Best Western
POLAND The RT Galicya hotel in Kraków, which is owned by RT Hotels (part of the Satoria Group), has joined the Best Western chain.
JLL predicts USD 32 bln hotel investment
WORLD Jones Lang LaSalle predicts that global hotel transaction volumes will hit USD 32 bln in 2013.
More guest in Hungarian hotels
HUNGARY The number of nights spent by foreign tourists in Hungary rose by 16 pct y-o-y in November, according to the Hungarian Central Statistics Office (KSH), while the number of nights spent by Hungarians fell by 3 pct.
