Retail parks continue to expand across region
CENTRAL & EASTERN EUROPE Retail park floorspace in Central & Eastern Europe came to 5.7 mln sqm at the beginning of the year with the Czech Republic, Romania and Poland accounting for 66 pct of the total retail park market in the region, according to the latest report by Cushman & Wakefield.

CEE: retail parks market still under supply
EUROPE As the Cushman & Wakefield report „European Retail Park 2019” shows, in recent years, European retail parks have experienced a significant transformation with regard to the breadth of tenant mix and quality of design. Retail park development continues to evolve across Europe. In Western Europe, where retail park development has reached maturity, the new schemes have to be innovative and compelling to be successfully developed. Many of the new retail park schemes include leisure and F&B to make them more attractive as retail destinations. In Central and Eastern Europe, the market has relative under supply, providing scope for increased levels of retail park development activity.

Russia and Poland: half of openings in Europe
EUROPE Year 2018 saw approximately 2.6 mln sqm of new shopping centre space completed, some 28 pct below the figure achieved in 2017 and bringing the total size of the European shopping centre market to 168 mln sqm, according to the Cushman & Wakefield report "European Shopping Centres Development Story 2019".
Galeria Andrychów to arise
POLAND Acteeum and Equilis are to develop the Galeria Andrychów retail project in southern Poland with an area of around 26,000 sqm.

Vis à Vis Wilanów fully leased
POLAND The Vis à Vis Street Mall developed by Capital Park on ul. Przyczółkowa in Warsaw's Wilanów district is now fully leased with the last four units having been taken by a Poczta Polska post office, the ZooZoo.pl pet store, the Touch of Art Permanent Beauty salon as well as an Optique Wilanów optician.

Mall of Sofia extended
BULGARIA Hystead, a majority owned subsidiary of Hyprop has opened the 12,000 sqm extension to The Mall of Sofia. The addition of 40 more stores has brought the total to 222, and now the mall is the second largest in the country with a total gla of 62,000 sqm.

Atut to open in Bełchatów

Neptune buys Silesia Outlet
POLAND Neptune, a joint venture of Neinver and Nuveen Real Estate, has acquired the Silesia Outlet centre in Gliwice for Poland EUR 31.5 mln, from 6B47. Silesia Outlet opened on 27th March this year and includes 12,000 sqm gla with 60 stores.
Kik still growing
POLAND KiK chain has recently opened stores in Chojna, Miechów and Elbląg, and is also soon to open stores in Ciechanów and Pabianice.
