Not just for Christmas

To distribute, to divide, to give out or to apportion – yes, this editorial is all about sharing, as you can see from my trip to the thesaurus.

You are heading a company that provides advisory services to tenants in over 80 offices worldwide. How has your business changed over time?

Stock market report

The slowdown and the shocks

The contrast has become starker between the economic data and how the Warsaw Stock Exchange is performing: for a stock market in the fastest-growing economy of the EU, the WSE has been markedly sluggish. And there’s little point in looking for signs of growth elsewhere in the world

Santa’s helpers

In November, at the very beginning of the Christmas season on the day Americans call Black Friday, we went shopping. We had one goal – to buy presents for the seriously ill children supported by the Iskierka Foundation. Then early one morning we transformed a Warsaw restaurant into something like Santa Claus’ workshop and took on the role of his team of elves to decorate the sacks and stockings to put all the gifts in. We hope these will keep the children smiling over the festive period, since it is happiness, health and well-being that we most often wish each other at this time of year. And what else does this team of Santa’s helpers brought together by Eurobuild CEE, want to wish us?

Packaging the revolution

The growth in online shopping has not only been changing our habits but also the way parcels are delivered. And the real estate market is set to benefit from this as the competition intensifies between courier networks

The calm before before the storm

“I’ve been attracting investors to Poland all my life – with my reputation I’ve been able to convince them that our country is the right location and to sell business ideas to them. I’ve told them: this is a good, stable place to do business. It’s predictable, a state under the rule of law ... But I can’t say all of these words today,” admits Przemysław Krych, the founder of Griffin Real Estate

REIT here, REIT now

The institutions that are to set up the first residential REITs in Poland face a daunting task – They will have to learn from scratch how to raise capital from individuals and invest it responsibly

Untapped energy on every wall

Perovskite cells are the first way of generating electricity that can compete with fossil fuels in terms of cost per kWh,” claims Olga Malinkiewicz, the CEO and the CTO of Saule technologies, which has entered into a partnership with Skanska to develop this technology for use in construction

Eurobuild Awards

Kind hearts and statuettes

The dictionary definition of corporate social responsibility (CSR) could evoke something rather formal and not that friendly. But when put into action, its activities are notable for their human warmth and contribution to society. Due to the success of the concept, there are now an increasing number of companies and individuals to choose from for the Eurobuild Award for Outstanding Non-Business Achievement of the Year

The office express that will not run out of steam

Co-working is the future of the office sector (although not every such enterprise will be successful). Polish regional markets are getting very good at attracting the attention of investors. And developers are not planning to build multi-generational buildings at all – these were the conclusions drawn at the 9th Office Market for Poland Conference, which took place on October 16th at the Marriott hotel in Warsaw

Polish brands feted at the festival

A total of 8,500 guests from 80 countries gathered in Cannes in the second week of November for the MAPIC 2018 retail property fair. And as usual the largest meeting of retail sector players took place in beautiful French Riviera weather – the perfect conditions for networking

My Christmas wish

Christmas is coming. Regardless of whether you celebrate Christmas or not, whether you consider it a Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus, the remnants of a pagan ritual marking the winter solstice, or just a time of rampant consumerism – for most of us the festive period is still “magical”

In the face of a challenge

Dynamic changes taking place on the shopping centre market are a challenge for the sector. Analysts list a number of phenomena that will affect the operations of shopping centres but it is up to the owners of the centres how they use the new opportunities
