Skanska wins station contract

CZECH REPUBLIC Skanska has been awarded a contract by the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration [SŽDC] for the modernisation of Česká Lípa train station in northern Bohemia.
The contract is worth CZK 1 bln (app. EUR 37 mln), which will be included in order bookings for Skanska Czech Republic for Q4 2015. The funds for the project are being provided by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure and Construction and the European Union Cohesion Fund within the Transport Operational Programme. As well as modernisation and reconstruction, the project involves the construction of a new terminal building, a new underpass to the platforms and a new signalling system. Skanska will also rebuild two bridges and add 32 electric heated switches and 19 railway crossings on a 33 km section of track. The construction work is expected to last for the next year and a half.
