Peace at work vs Star Wars

StepStone Services, an operator of job portals in Europe, has presented the new interior of its IT Development Center located in Tulipan House office building in Warsaw. Savills is the property manager of the building and represents the landlord Commerz Real as an exclusive leasing agent. StepStone IT Development Center was designed and decorated in accordance with the ‘Star Wars’ theme. Savills Project Management Team executed fit-out arrangements, designed by JMP Services architectural studio. “One of the most complex ideas implemented in the office arrangements included the bare ceiling with exposed technical installations for a more industrial look,” said Milena Sikora, associate, licenced BREEAM assessor at Savills.

StepStone decided to relocate to A class office building Tulipan House in June 2015. Fit out works lasted for four months, but the whole conceptual process took around six months. 315 working places have been arranged on an area of 2,600 sqm. The new StepStone office has a spacious reception, a huge comfortable kitchen, six large conference rooms, seven middle size conference rooms and 12 ‘telephone booths’. All conference rooms are named after Star Wars characters and places, like Naboo, Darth Vader and Endor.

“Employees at StepStone often work in small groups and use walls and partitions to note down ideas. For this reason we designed walls that serve as black boards and magnetic boards to make notes. A very important role is played by the centrally located kitchen and a playroom with a game console, table football and darts which provide relaxation and rest to StepStone employees,” says Barnaba Grzelecki, architect at JMP Services.

Tulipan House has a total of 17,895 sqm of leasable area and is located in Mokotów District at ul. Domaniewska 50. The building has attracted a number of prestigious tenants, including Huawei, Teleperformance, Amgen, Kodak and C&F. The building was granted the BREEAM In-Use certificate level ‘Very Good’ in Asset Rating (building) and ‘Excellent’ in Building Management (the quality of management). Tulipan House is a winner of The Office of The Year, Tenant’s Award 2013, granted by Eurobuild CEE.
