POLAND Hochtief wins PLN 172 mln contract for Kraków science centre

Hochtief Polska has been awarded a PLN 172 mln contract to build the new home of Małopolskie Centrum Nauki Cogiteon (the Cogiteon Małopolskie Science Centre) in Kraków.
According to the contract, the construction work is to start soon and should be completed at the beginning of 2023. A building with a total area of app. 27,500 sqm and a usable area of almost 14,100 sqm is planned. The triangular, streamlined building will consist of four bodies, connected by a common façade and an underground level. It will contain exhibition and laboratory rooms, a restaurant and conference space, as well as a basement car park with electric vehicle charging stations.
