In 2025, Polish construction companies stopped wondering whether it was worth implementing BIM and simply started doing it. The level of digitalisation in the Polish construction industry is now noticeably higher than a year ago. However, this does not mean that everyone in the market actually works with BIM or applies it at a comparable level. The level of BIM implementation in local government units, public institutions, general contractors, and design offices still varies greatly. Some are using BIM comprehensively, others are just beginning, and still others are treating it more declaratively than operationally. What changed in 2025 is the macro perspective: the market is moving towards BIM, the industry language has matured, more and more tenders include BIM requirements, and industry statistics and research show a clear increase in the declarative understanding and use of BIM. It's no longer a question of "is it worth it?" but rather "how to do it well?". In private conversations, no one asks what BIM is anymore. Concepts that were niche just a few years ago are now a natural part of everyday work.

In 2025, large strategic investments, such as projects related to the CPK (Central Polish Transport Hub) and the Port of Gdynia and its digital twin, have significantly contributed to the popularisation of BIM. These investments demonstrate that well-planned BIM implementation and intelligently designed enterprise digitisation pay off very quickly, enabling optimisation on a scale previously impossible. Public sector analysis clearly shows that public investors are increasingly choosing BIM as the standard in 2025. In the coming years, this trend will become even stronger, especially in the area of facility and infrastructure maintenance, as well as in BIM integration with FM systems, and public procurement related to digitalisation.

The only surprising thing is the declining interest in 3D scanning of existing underground infrastructure, especially in large cities, even though it is the lack of reliable models of underground infrastructure that generates the most serious financial risks during the construction phase.

What will we see in Poland in 2026?

  • the continuation of BIM in public investments (CPK, railways, ports, energy); an open market for data (FM, operations, data warehouse);
  • the rising importance of data integrators and information specialists;
  • a gradual transition from BIM → CIM/Digital Twin → Smart City.
