POLAND The redevelopment of the former TVP Szczecin tower is to start in H1 next year. The developer of the project, Idea-Inwest, is to turn it into the 18-storey Sky Garden apartment building, which should be ready in 2022.

Central Point signs up WeWork
POLAND Flexible workspace provider WeWork has leased 5,500 sqm for its sixth Polish centre in Central Point project in Warsaw. The building is under development by Immobel and scheduled for completion in 2021. WeWork was represented in the negotiations by Cushman & Wakefield.

POLAND IT company Ailleron, which is involved in fintech and telecommunications, has signed one of Kraków’s biggest leases of 2019 and is to take up 8,600 sqm of office space in building B of Podium Park.

New Format for Gdańsk
POLAND Construction work on a new office building is starting on ul. Droszyńskiego in Gdańsk. The Format building will have five above-ground floors and more than 15,700 sqm of leasable space. The completion of the construction work has been scheduled for Q2 2021.

POLAND NDI Development has chosen the Sopot-based Roark Studio to design a residential building on ul. Jagiellońska in Gdańsk.
Apartment Plus adds more in Wrocław
POLAND PFR Nieruchomości, the company that runs the governmental Mieszkanie Plus [Apartment Plus] scheme to provide homes for young families, has bought a 12.33 ha plot of land on ul. Odolanowska in Wrocław’s Zakrzów district from Polski Holding Nieruchomości. More than 1,000 apartments are to be built on the site under the scheme.

Uznam tunnel moves closer
POLAND A ZRID permit for the construction of a road tunnel to connect both sides of Świnoujście by linking the Polish mainland to the Uznam [Usedom] island is to be issued this year. This document should allow the work to begin in Q4 of this year.
Retail consumption grows across the EU
EUROPE Retail turnover is to increase by 2 pct in nominal terms in the 27 countries of the European Union this year, forecasts GFK. The largest increases are forecast in Romania and Lithuania.
