POLAND Medium and large-sized construction companies generated a total net profit of PLN 4.3bln in 2018, compared to PLN 2.9 bln in the previous year, according to the ‘Construction market in Poland 2019-2025’ report published by Spectis.

Koreans buy two office buildings in Warsaw
POLAND Commerz Real acting on behalf of Korea-based Hana Financial Investment has acquired the first two buildings of the Lixa office complex, which is being built by Yareal on ul. Kasprzaka in Warsaw’s Wola district.

POLAND Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that it has entered into a franchise agreement with 3M Hotels Group to open a hotel in Kraków, marking the return of the brand to Poland.

Inditex invests in eco-tech
WORLD Spanish clothing group Inditex has signed a cooperation agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) aimed at developing sustainable methods for the production of clothing. Inditex is to invest USD 4 mln in the scheme.

POLAND Nowy Horyzont Development is to start the construction of the Loft Rzeszów residential estate in Krasne near Rzeszów this year. The first stage of the project will be a three-storey building with 40 apartments.

WXCA wins Gdynia theatre design
POLAND The WXCA architectural studio has won the competition to develop the concept for a major extension to the Witold Gombrowicz Theatre in Gdynia [Teatru Miejskiego im. Witolda Gombrowicza w Gdyni]. Construction work on the project is to start in 2021.

POLAND PFR Nieruchomości has announced that two more residential projects are to be developed under the Apartment Plus [Mieszkanie Plus] programme – 190 apartments are to be built in Nakło nad Notecią near Bydgoszcz while 42 units are to be constructed in Jedlina-Zdrój in Lower Silesia.
