Up into the skies with Varso

The laying of the foundation for Varso Tower (which is to be 230m in height) has been started, as well as for the Varso 2 building. However work on Varso 1 is more advanced and has reached the second underground level. Varso Tower and Varso 2 should reach ground level by late autumn, while Varso 1 should reach this stage in June. The two lower buildings are to be completed by the end of 2019, while Varso Tower is to be ready by the end of 2020.

"Our biggest challenge on this construction site is the logistics. We do not have much space and access to the site is only from a narrow street on the Chmielna side. Our plans also clashed with existing installations and we had to solve this problem at the very beginning. Also the proximity of the railway lines and the surrounding buildings, as well as the fact that we are in the city centre, make the transportation, the deliveries and the construction work much harder. Now we are finishing the groundwork. For the Varso Tower building, we have just started laying the foundation slab. Varso 1 has already reached the -2 level (out of 4 underground levels) and Varso 2 is also being preparing for the laying of the foundation slab. Varso Tower will reach level 0 around November with Varso 1 in June and Varso 2 in the autumn, maybe in November. The two lower buildings are to be ready by the end of 2019 and the Tower by the end of 2020," said Maciej Olczyk, project manager, HB Reavis Construction.
