Lithuania is the largest of the Baltic States in terms of population with 2.9 inhabitants – almost half that of the three countries combined. But its real estate investment market is very unlike Poland’s, in that the make-up of the investors in the current real estate investment volumes in the Lithuanian market is overwhelmingly of a domestic or local origin. Last year, 80 pct of the turnover was accounted for by domestic players and the remaining 20 pct came from investors from other Baltic countries.
