Green projects
CEE REGION The Wronia 31 office building in Warsaw and Binarium in Cluj Napoca (Romania) have both been recognised at the BREEAM Awards 2019 in London.

In the final round Wronia 31, which was developed by Ghelamco, defeated projects that included Varso Tower in Warsaw, Turyn Office in Kraków, Isho office in Timișoara and also, in this category, the Binarium Business Center to win the regional award for Central and Eastern Europe. “For more than nine years, all of Ghelamco’s projects have been built in line with sustainable construction principles and Building Research Establishment guidelines. The award for Wronia 31 as the best certified building in this part of Europe is further confirmation that we are a Polish real estate market leader in the field of green construction,” said Jeroen van der Toolen, the managing director of Ghelamco for the CEE region.

The 15-storey building has a total area of 16,000 sqm, of which over 15,150 sqm are offices and 850 sqm are retail and service premises was completed in autumn 2017, according to a design by Jaspers-Eyers Architects. It has a BREEAM rating of ‘Outstanding’, with Sweco Consulting having been responsible for the certification process.

Binarium, which won the overall BREEAM award for best in-use commercial building, is a 16,000 sqm office building that was completed in 2017 by present owners Taco Developments. It was designed by Dico & Ţigănaş with Pad Invest as the general contractor.
