MIT looks for innovators

Out of almost 300 applications, the accelerator has chosen 16 start-ups from Poland, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The start-ups will undergo the acceleration process for three months, in cooperation with Polish and international enterprises. The aim of MIT Enterprise Forum CEE acceleration is to support the most innovative science and technology start-ups from Poland and Central and Eastern Europe by combining their potential with the knowledge and resources of large enterprises, as well as the experience of mentors who have achieved successes in international business. Apart from companies from Poland, the teams which qualified for the first edition of the programme include those from the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. “Although we are primarily focusing on the acceleration of technology start-ups from Central and Eastern Europe, we are also open to interesting and innovative technologies from other parts of the world. Teams from the USA or Nigeria were among those which applied for the current edition of the programme. This shows that the support for start-ups provided by the Polish ecosystem is becoming more and more attractive to entrepreneurs from around the world,” says Łukasz Owczarek, the head of acceleration at MIT Enterprise Forum CEE. The Tensorflight start-up, which provides solutions for automatic and immediate real estate inspections with the use of the system of recognising objects in satellite and aerial photographs, was one of the teams that qualified for the programme. Another one was Spectral Games, an application that displays 3D holograms, which helps employees step-by-step in complicated technical procedures, including the assembly, service or quality control activities. The Runvido start-up also participates in the programme. It provides an application that helps business to communicate more effectively with clients by assigning video materials to static pictures, which can be played using the application on the phone.
