Kraków city centre remains the city’s leading office location. In the first half of 2026, occupier demand for central locations increased, while developer activity remained limited. According to Newmark Polska’s Office Occupier – Kraków Office Market report, rising vacancy outside the city centre and limited new supply are creating increasingly different conditions across Kraków’s office market.

LPP has reached the 4,000-store milestone, strengthening its position as one of Europe’s leading fashion retailers. The Gdańsk-based group, owner of Reserved, Cropp, House, Mohito and Sinsay, is present in 47 markets, with its retail network covering more than 3.2 mln sqm across three continents.

Poland is strengthening its position among developed markets. S&P Dow Jones Indices has decided to reclassify the country from an emerging to a developed market. The change will take effect in September 2027, when Poland will join the S&P Developed BMI as the 27th country in the index. FTSE Russell and STOXX already classify Poland as a developed market.

The Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Gdańsk has selected Tryton Business House as the new headquarters of the Provincial Disability Assessment Board. The board will occupy nearly 1,600 sqm of office space.

Romanian investors have acquired commercial real estate worth a combined EUR 2.066 bln over the past 20 years, with 69 pct of that capital invested since 2020, according to Fortim Trusted Advisors, a member of the BNP Paribas Real Estate Alliance.

Alides Polska will start work in September on the redevelopment of the Perun technical gas plant in Warsaw’s Praga-Południe district. The project will combine 242 new apartments with the restoration of the site’s historic industrial halls.

Varitex has launched apartment sales for the third stage of Osiedle Zastawna OdNova in southern Łódź. The stage will comprise 16 terraced buildings with single-family and two-unit homes, most with private gardens.

Poland’s construction sector is facing increasing labour shortages, with the industry short of around 150,000 workers. Turnover among engineers has reached 42 pct, according to Randstad’s latest report, 'Labour Market in the Construction Sector: Trends, Challenges and Recruitment Strategies for 2026'. Demographic changes, rising employee expectations and the sector’s shift towards Construction 4.0 are adding to the pressure.
