Spark gets Well

POLAND Spark C office building in Warsaw’s Wola district has been granted Well Core & Shell certification.

This is the first such certificate awarded in Poland and the second in the CEE region with the first having been issued to the Skanska’s Visionary office building in Prague. The certificate is issued by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) to buildings that meet strict criteria related to health, well-being and comfort. “All our developments will take the WELL Building Standard into account at the design stage and the certificate will be applied for. The next buildings that are to be submitted for WELL Core & Shell Certification are Generation Park Z and Y in Warsaw, the next stage of the Nowy Rynek in Poznań, Centrum Południe in Wroclaw and Wave in Gdańsk,” says Arkadiusz Rudzki, the managing director of Skanska Property in Poland

The five floors of the Spark office building, occupied by the Skanska group, also received the LEED Commercial Interior (LEED CI) certificate with a rating of ‘Platinumand a score of 90 points, the highest in Central and Eastern Europe. Skanska sold the 13,000 sqm building to KGAL in September 2018.

CTP holds the record

The newly constructed warehouse, which has expanded CTPark Prague West, has been certified as the most environmentally friendly industrial building in the Czech Republic according to ‘BREEAM New Construction’ standards, with a record score of 92.1 pct. The building is home to Rhenus Logistics, which uses it as a cross-dock for its pan-European network for collection services and warehousing.

Very Green Norblin

Owned by the Capital Park Group, the Warsaw mixed use complex Norblin Factory has received the final BREEAM certificates for both its office and retail sections. A photovoltaic system has been installed in the complex, and the managers are continuing their efforts to steadily reduce the property’s carbon footprint.

Energy consumption reduced by almost 48 pct, almost 4 mln litres of water saved in a year and CO2 emissions reduced by more than 3,900 tonnes - these are the savings generated by the Warsaw P180 office building, developed by Skanska in Warsaw by the Wilanowska metro station. The investment has just received LEED Core & Shell certification at the Platinum level.
