Charity triathlon in Alchemia

Corporate social responsibility
POLAND The sixth Torus Triathlon In Da House (TTIDH) took place in the Alchemia office complex in Gdańsk at the end of February.

A total of 41 teams entered the contest and a dozen or so competitors took part individually. The proceeds from registration fees, a total of around PLN 70,000, was donated to the ReceRunning Tri-City Sports Association. The competitors had to swim 750m in a swimming pool, cycle 20 km in a simulator and finally run 5 km on an electric treadmill.

“We provide modern work space but we try to give our business partners something more. With the TTIDH race we have created a platform to experience the thrills of sport, overcoming barriers and achieve self-realisation. This year, together with the other companies taking part in the competition, we also donated almost PLN 70,000 to the RaceRunning Tri-City Association. We have supported six different charity goals in all six meetings of the event, raising more than PLN 200,000,” comments Natalia Manuszewska of Torus, the developer of Alchemia and the organiser of TTIDH.

“It was obvious that the competitors were thoroughly prepared and as usual a lot of fans were here to cheer them on. We managed to raise a huge amount of money for the RaceRunning Tri-City Sports Association,” adds Iwona Guzowska, the sports director of TTIDH.

In the team competition, first place went to the Jeppesen Foundation represented by Weronika Wyszyńska, Wojciech Kargul and Mateusz Badziong. Second place on the podium was taken by the 100 Years of PKO Bank Polski team (comprising Tomasz Czarnecki, Katarzyna Kondratowicz and Arkadiusz Karwowski), followed in third by the Torus Squad team (Katarzyna Barcz, Paweł Gołębicki and Przemysław Groszewski).

In the individual men’s competition the winners were: Michał Twarowski (first place, Jeppesen Foundation), Michał Bałut (second place, Kemira Gdańsk) and Łukasz Skrzycki (third, Jeppesen Foundation).

The winners among the women were: Lucyna Śliz ( first, Cushman & Wakefield Poland), Marta Kamińska-Olczak (second, Kemira) and Jadwiga Figula (third, Thomson Reuters).

All the proceeds were donated to the ReceRunning Sports Association, dedicated to providing facilities and support for disabled people to practise sport.
