CEE REGION EUR 85 mln green loan for Globalworth

Romanian developer Globalworth has been granted an EUR 85 mln loan from the International Finance Corporation, which is a member of the World Bank Group.

The loan, which is to run for a period of six years, has been issued by the IFC to Globalworth Holdings Cyprus Limited, with Globalworth acting as the parent company guarantor. According to its terms, the loan or an equivalent amount will be allocated to eligible commercial property projects in Romania that contribute to climate change mitigation, in line with the company’s green loan framework. This will allow the company to sustain operations, deliver investment projects, and launch new green projects. The IFC assisted Globalworth in developing its green loan framework.

The hotel market in Bucharest has experienced a moderate annual average growth in new offerings, at 0.9 pct between 2019 and 2023. This modest trend was primarily influenced by the cancellation of Urban Zoning Plans. Between 2024 and 2025, an estimated average annual growth rate of 4.1 pct in the number of rooms is expected, according to data from the real estate consulting company Cushman & Wakefield.

CTP holds the record

The newly constructed warehouse, which has expanded CTPark Prague West, has been certified as the most environmentally friendly industrial building in the Czech Republic according to ‘BREEAM New Construction’ standards, with a record score of 92.1 pct. The building is home to Rhenus Logistics, which uses it as a cross-dock for its pan-European network for collection services and warehousing.
