Warsaw Spire topped off

Belgian developer Ghelamco has topped off building ‘A’ of its flagship Warsaw Spire office project.
The concrete structure has its full complement of 49 floors reaching 180m in height and is missing only the 40m spire that will make it the second tallest building in Poland’s capital after the Palace of Culture. The opening of the entire complex is planned for April 2016. Warsaw Spire will comprise 100,000 sqm of space, 60 pct of which will be located in building ‘A’. Two smaller 15-storey buildings of 20,000 sqm each will also form part of the complex. The leasing level has now reached 50 pct. Tenants include Samsuing (22,000 sqm), Frontex (14,600 sqm), BNP Paribas Securities Services, Benefit Systems and Bilfinger HSG Facility Management. Public space also forms part of the complex. The 4,000 sqm plac Europejski Square will feature a number of restaurants, 130 trees and a number of large fountains for children to play in, “which is why the tiles will not be slippery, the water will be about 3 cm in depth and the nozzles will be under the paving stones, so you would be able to walk through the water.” said Jeroen Van der Toolen, Ghelamco's managing director for the CEE region. He also added that the intention was to create public space ideal for families.
