Jeroen van der Toolen: Ghelamco is currently "quite" (meaning very) active in Poland

"So we are quite active," said Jeroen van der Toolen, managing director CEE, Ghelamco.
"We have just started a new project. At the moment we area calling it Łucka/Wronia, on the corner of these streets, but it is officially called Wronia 31 and is to be a 16,500 sqm building. It is under construction and will be delivered at the beginning of Q2 2017. In January we are starting another large project - Sienna Towers, which will be 100,000 sqm. This week we are starting construction work in Łódź on a BTS project for Mbank. We will hopefully obtain building permits in three different cities for new projects next year. I don't know when we will be able start them, yet. But we will be starting in July on the first phase of our Gdański Garden Station - Warszawa Gdańska, which is 165,000 sqm in total with around 25,000 sqm in the first stage plus the whole station.
Besides that in January we are starting on our Foksal project. It has taken eight years to obtain the building permit for this, so it will be a very special development. It is a beautiful boutique project and very special because we have to cooperate on it with the historic monuments conservator, which isn't the easiest thing, especially for this project, since every room has different ornamentation, different floors, different doors... so the construction costs are quite high, but it will be a most unique residential project, even for the entire country.
In addition we have two small ongoing retail projects. After finishing Plac Vogla, we are now starting two similar projects in Piaseczno and Łomianki," explains the CEE managing director of Ghelamco.
Jeroen van der Toolen also adds that next year the most important event for the company will be the opening of Warsaw Spire, which should be finished in March .
