Christof Winkelmann

Christof Winkelmann, the head of special property finance division, will be appointed to a member of the company’s management board, effective from 1 July 2016. The appointment beings the total number of management board members to five. Christof Winkelmann will be responsible for the sales units in the structured property financing segment, a position previously held by Dagmar Knopek. Specifically, in his new function, he will be responsible for all of the segment's new business activities. The appointment is subject to approval by the European Central Bank. Christof Winkelmann first worked for Aareal Bank in 2000-2006, where he was responsible for the bank's hotel financing business. In 2006 he started to work as the managing director of Valartis Bank. He returned to Aareal Bank in 2008 as the managing director of special property finance. Christof started his career at the New York Palace Hotel and with consultancy firm Arthur Andersen in Frankfurt/Main. Dagmar Knopek will now assume the function of chief credit officer on the management board.
