Face-lift for Wrocław embankment

Demolition and cleaning work is currently underway on the site. One of the key projects of the revitalisation of the Przedmieście Oławskie boulevard is the refurbishment and development of the Oława embankment as part of the Local Revitalisation Programme.. The demolition of farm buildings has already been carried out in the area of the Angel River apartment building and on ul. Walońska and ul. Szybka on the embankment. Preparations are in progress for the next stage, which will start after the signing of an EU co-financing contract with the city.

“The main idea of ​​the development of the Oława waterfront is to display the features that distinguish it as a natural enclave,” explains Grażyna Adamczyk-Arns, the CEO of Wrocławska Rewitalizacja. “Every effort is being made to create parks for relaxation and the observation of nature – a green oasis among the dense, 19th century buildings of Przedmieście Oławskie,” she adds.

After the site has been cleared, work will begin on the walking and cycle path leading to Rakowiecki Bridge. The project will also include river piers, a playground, a rollerblade track as well as meeting and recreation areas. New trees, shrubs and flowers are also to be planted. The project should be completed by the end of summer 2019. Private investor Angel Poland Group, the developer of the Angel River apartment building, has also became involved in the scheme. Last year it renovated the jetties on ul. Walońska and has now started the construction of a shared zone leading directly to the promenade, among other work. The project also includes the reconstruction and modernisation of the junction between ul. Traugutta and ul. Miernicza.

“The revitalisation of Przedmieście Oławskie is a project that continues to be implemented by the city in cooperation with local residents. The district is now flourishing from one month to the next, attracting new devotees. The popularity of the marina we have renovated confirms that such initiatives make sense,” claims Natalia Sawicka, the sales and marketing director of Angel River.

Angel River comprises two buildings, one with 17 storeys and the other with nine, which together will have a total of 341 apartments of between 24 sqm and 118 sqm, more than 90 pct of which have already been sold. The flats will have balconies, loggias or terraces. The complex will feature a fitness zone including saunas and a spa, a lobby with a meeting place for residents, a playroom, underground parking spaces for guests and an electric vehicle charging station. The general contractor of the project is Karmar, while the architectural design was prepared by the Maćków studio based on a concept by the Gottesman Szmelcman Architecture studio.
