All the people go hand-in-hand with Prologis Parklife
Warehouse & industrialPrologis is to introduce new standards in line with this strategy.
“Last year in Central Europe was a time of focusing on client needs for Prologis. Utilising the potential of our global scale, we worked on supporting the development of our clients, especially in the field of sustainable development, well-being and the operational improvement of our business,” comments Paweł Sapek, a senior vice-president and the regional head for Central Europe at Prologis.
The company’s current portfolio in the region (Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) amounts to 4.2 mln sqm, including 1.8 mln sqm in Poland. Its data also shows that contracts were signed in 2019 involving around 1.25 mln sqm, 708,000 sqm of which was in Poland. Its portfolio in the CEE region is 93 pct leased and 94 pct leased in Poland. Projects with almost 200,000 sqm were started by the company in the region in 2019 in seven buildings, four of which were in Poland (156,000 sqm).
In the Czech Republic last year, building 3 of Prologis Park Prague-Airport received a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certificate.
In Poland Prologis intends to focus on five key markets. These are Upper and Lower Silesia, Central Poland, Poznań and the Warsaw area. The company is currently developing 160,000 sqm for Euronet (the owner of the RTV Euro AGD retail chain) in Prologis Park Janki – one of the largest European warehouse contracts in 2019. Around 50,000 sqm is also under construction in Prologis Park Ruda Śląska for the Raben group. In Lower Silesia an app. 40,000 sqm BTS project is being built in Prologis Park Wrocław IV for Jøtul and Yusen Logistics. Two BTSs under one roof are also under construction in Prologis Park Wrocław V.
The company is also introducing measures to significantly reduce the negative environmental impact of and improve the quality of the work in its warehouses. One of its priorities is implementing its Parklife programme across Europe. Under this, logistics parks are to become friendly work spaces focused on the needs of employees. The four pillars of this project will be: the environment, transport, well-being and the community. Parklife complexes will include canteens and food truck zones, sports facilities and barbecue areas, as well as recreational and green areas. The properties will have good transport links to their surrounding areas and some of them will have charging stations for electric cars. The new approach will be introduced in Prologis Park Janki and Prologis Park Ruda Śląska in Poland as well as in Prologis Park Budapest, among others in the region.
