Polish architect wins Kiribati Floating Houses competition

The architects had to design buildings that would take into account the climate change and rising water levels. The winning design is called ‘Riiki’ and is inspired by Oceania mythology and local Kiribati culture. Pentagonal floating platforms each with a side-length of 50m and an area of 4,300 sqm can easily be connected and can accommodate up to 30 people. People can add or take away units as they please.
