POLAND Foster+Partners wins Solidarity Airport design gig

Architecture and urban planning
London-based studio Foster+Partners in a consortium with Buro Happold has won the competition to design the Solidarity Airport near Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
The airport, variously known as Port Solidarności, Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) or the New Central Polish Airport, is to be built in Stanisławów in Baranów district near Grodzisk Mazowiecki, about 40 km southwest of Warsaw. Foster+Partners’ designs were chosen over proposals by such other global studios as Grimshaw Architects, Chapman Taylor, Zaha Hadid Architects, Benoy and Pascall+Watson. The winning concept entails the construction of a main key-shaped terminal in the first stage

Construction of Panattoni Park Warsaw North III in Nadma near Warsaw has been completed. Harden Construction, the general contractor, has completed Hall A, which has almost 15,800 sqm of space. An occupancy permit has already been granted. The complex occupies a site of more than 121,000 sqm.

An office building at ul. Żurawia 8 in Warsaw is being converted into a residential building by MS Investments and RR Enterprises. The project will comprise 69 apartments ranging from 40 sqm to 80 sqm. Dutch architectural studio MVSA is designing the project together with APMD, which is based in Warsaw.

The company has taken 2,000 sqm of space combining offices, a showroom and business meeting areas. Colliers advised LPP on the lease, while its Colliers Define team was responsible for the interior design and fit-out.

Poland is strengthening its position among developed markets. S&P Dow Jones Indices has decided to reclassify the country from an emerging to a developed market. The change will take effect in September 2027, when Poland will join the S&P Developed BMI as the 27th country in the index. FTSE Russell and STOXX already classify Poland as a developed market.

Praga to tower up over Warsaw

High-rise developments may be developed near the National Stadium metro station. The city's spatial policy clearly aims to break down the division between the left and right banks of the Vistula.
