A modular construction research centre has been completed for Koma Modular in Vizovice, in the Czech Republic’s eastern Zlín region. The design of the facility is the work of Prague-based architectural studio Chybik+Kristof.
The 170 sqm research centre is to be used as a think-tank to challenge and expand existing notions of modular construction. It is situated at the edge of Koma’s own plant in the town. This is the studio’s third modular project in its partnership with the company and is based on the concept of rotated containers functioning as columns, enabling the building to be further expanded according to modular architecture concepts.
