Finnish studio ALA Architects has won the competition to design an extension to the Estonian Business School in Tallinn’s central Maakri district.
A total of 37 studios and consortiums took part in the bidding, with ALA eventually being chosen out of a shortlist of seven.
The winning design includes a 30-storey high-rise housing an office hotel intended for business accelerators and research-intensive start-ups (4,000 sqm). Above it, an accommodation block planned intended mainly for EBS students (5,000 sqm). The upper floors of the building (15,000 sqm) will contain apartments to be sold to raise funds for further investment in the infra
