Poland Warsaw commemorates two 19th century brewers

Architecture and urban planning
A new street has been created in Warsaw within Echo Investment's Browary Warszawskie project in Warsaw.

The name of ul. Haberbuscha i Schielego was one of three street names proposed by historians from the Museum of Warsaw and voted on by the public. Konstanty Edward Schiele was born in 1817 of German parents and met Błażej Haberbusch [Blasius Haberbosch] in 1846, who had earlier come to Poland to ply his trade in brewing. Together the two business partners were later to found one of the largest breweries in Poland.

The new street is 135m long and starts from the gates of the former brewery on ul. Grzybowska. The road joins both the residential section of the development and the office section and meets ul. Krochmalna within the residential section. The layout was designed by Jems Architekci and the street is to be the first woonerf in the city, with no separated pavements or curbs and limited road vehicle traffic allowed to travel only in one direction.
