GLOBAL The Institution of Structural Engineers, a London-based organisation focused on promoting the art and science of structural engineering, has announced the winners of its Structural Awards 2014. The annual contest awards the most innovative structural design solutions from all over the world.

POLAND The Thomas Phifer and Partners architectural studio of New York has won the tender for the new design of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw and the TR Warszawa theatre.
Call for submissions for Warsaw University of Technology zoning plan competition
POLAND Warsaw University of Technology has called for submissions for zoning and architectural plan for its central campus. The winners in the competition will be awarded prizes worth PLN 160,000. The deadline for preliminary applications is August 14th, 2014.

POLAND A design by Michał Brutkowski from the Archigraf architectural studio has won the competition for the concept of the Polish Vodka Museum in Warsaw.

Design for Małachowskiego Square in Warsaw chosen
POLAND A team comprising Grzegorz Stiasny, Jakub Wacławek, Jan Bagiński, Filip Dzimwasha, Adam Kluczek and Karolina Kuczyńska has won the second prize in the competition – and a recommendation for the implementation of the design – for the renovation of pl. Małachowskiego in Warsaw. A first prize has not been awarded.

UNITED KINGDOM International architecture and design company Aedas has reorganized its structure. The company’s regional offices in Russia, Poland and Kazakhstan, as well as eight British bureaus will now be operating under different brand, AHR.

Office building under preparation in Łódź
POLAND The Staszewscy Ziółkowscy Architekci studio has prepared the architectural design of an office building to be built at the junction of al. T. Kościuszki and ul. Zielona in Łódź. The plot, which is owned by the investor behind the project, Rzgowa, was formerly the site of a reform synagogue built according to a design by Adolf Wolff of Stuttgart that was burnt down and destroyed during the Second World War.
