Where the real scandal is

I can easily imagine that most of us are tired of reading the front pages of Polish newspapers. Political scandals have been in the news for over month and it’s impossible to see any end of it. Especially since we have a new parliamentary election on the horizon. And the election means a great deal: lots of new, usually empty promises (also for business), then new people at the national rudder and the frustrating period of uncertainty over what will be the new political direction. What will they change and how will it influence the workings of the real estate market?

But for me the political scandals are nothing compared to the construction of the new terminal of Warsaw Ok´cie Airport. The general contractors, Ferrovial Agroman with Budimex and Estudio Lamela first presented their concept for Ok´cie over 5 years ago! The airport managers, Przedsi´biorstwo Paƒstwowe Porty Lotnicze (PPL), have announced the opening of the new terminal at least 5 times (the original date was November 2005) and at the beginning of September 2007 they have had to postpone it once again. This is a real scandal! Politicians - would you be so kind and give some relief to the queuing and angry passengers? Maybe you should join them instead of using the VIP terminal? Local airports, however, are in a much better shape. Check this out in the article on p.42.

Airports are getting bigger and so they should, as more and more Poles are choosing this means of travel. Some of them to get to their properties abroad: in Spain or Dubai.
