LPP signs contracts with ECE

Contracts of a value of around 50.2 million zlotys have been signed in the past 12 months between LPP dependent companies (Reserved, Cropp clothing brands) and units dependent on the ECE Projektmanagement International developer (Galeria Łódzka among others). A recently signed contract is to rent space in the Galeria Łódzka shopping centre for a shop in the Cropp chain. A further two are for space in shopping centres in Prague, the Czech capital.

Half the Legnicka Gallery has been let

The Redis company, the developer of the Legnicka Gallery shopping centre (80,000 sqm) in Wrocław, has announced that 50 percent of the shopping space in the object has been pre-let, the tenants including Tesco, Reserved, Cubus, J.R. Fashion, Key and Douglas. Construction is to commence this July, with opening planned for the autumn of 2005. Financing is ensured by Bank Austria Creditansalt and BPH. LMI, YG Projekt, Geokonstrukcja and Davis Langdon Polska are firms engaged in this venture.

Silver Screen in Wola Park

A multiplex Silver Screen cinema is to start operating at the end of the year in the Wola Park shopping centre. Construction is to start this June. Silver Screen will be of 3,100 sqm, situated on the building's top floor, together with a World Coffee café and a bar on the same floor. The multiplex cinema in this centre will be the third in the chain in Warsaw.

Castorama in Wałbrzych

A Castorama wholesale warehouse is to be built in Wałbrzych and commissioned at the end of the present year. The store will have a total space of more than 12,500 sqm, the retail space to be almost 9,000 sqm. A parking site for around 100 cars will be constructed in front of the building.

Construction of Alfa Centrum gets moving

Work is commencing at the construction of Alfa Centrum the Olsztyn city shopping centre, the developer being JWK Invest of Gdynia. The project to be developed at Piłsudskiego Ave will have a total space of 46,000 sqm (15,000 sqm shopping space). A contract has been signed for a 6-room cinema. Local traders will occupy around 30 percent of the space. Rent is set at 20 euro/sqm

Galeria Łódzka receives a distinction

Galeria Łódzka received the European Shopping Centre award in the category of large shopping objects, granted by the International Council of Shopping Centres. The 38,500 sqm Galeria Łódzka was constructed by ECE Projektmanagement of Germany. The present majority owner of the property is an investment fund connected with Deutsche Bank.

In the April number of "Eurobuild Poland" we erroneously mentioned the names of agencies letting space in the Blue City and Reduta shopping centres in Warsaw. Actually, the first of these is serviced by DTZ and the second by Jones Lang LaSalle. We wish to apologise to all interested parties and readers for our mistake.
